Ogbemudia Godfrey

Area of Interest:
Climate Change, Energy Access ,Renewable Energy, On/Off-grid application of solar PV for electrification generation (mini-grids/solar lighting), decentralized/embedded generation, Energy Efficiency-residential sector, Clean cooking technology, sustainable forest management.

Godfrey Ogbemudia currently manages several energy projects at the national level both on and off-grid cutting across policy reforms, electrification planing, energy infrastructure etc being implemented by members state organizations like GIZ, AFD etc.

Before joining the EU, Godfrey was a Project Director at the Community Research and Development Centre (CREDC), a national NGO promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency in Nigeria. during his time at CREDC, he successfully designed and coordinated the implementation of over 11 renewable energy/energy efficiency projects across Nigeria. He is a team player with ability to fulfill performance objectives, including timely implementation and reporting of donor-funded projects, great ability to manage and motivate, mentor and direct all levels of staff while creating a positive team environment.

He is also an expert in project financing and have been able to secure funding through proposal writing and other innovative approaches for several renewable energy projects.

As a local consultant, he has assisted key players in the renewable energy sector like; IT-Power UK, ENERCAP France, ECONOLER etc. in implementing projects funded by development organizations which include the World Bank and French Development Agency here in Nigeria. He currently offers advisory services to On-frontiers on issues relating to investment potentials in the solar off-grid market in West Africa. He is very knowledgeable with the implementation of donor assisted projects and is familiar with international development issues.
